Town of Yemassee CBDG-R Notice Concerning
Application Submissions |

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
on or about Wednesday, June 10, 2009, the Town of Yemassee will
submit an application to South Carolina Department of Commerce,
Grants Administration for Community Development Block Grant –
Recovery Funds. The Town of Yemassee is requesting $447,827 to
carry out the following activities:
The Town of Yemassee proposes to use $447,827 in CDBG-R funds to
loop the Town of Yemassee’s water system in several key areas by
installing 8 inch water lines in existing and previously
disturbed public right of ways. The areas of work are as
follows: installation of 8 inch line along Hill Street to
interconnect with Salkehatchie Road, installation of 8 inch line
from Green Street to Flowers Street, and installation of 8 inch
line along US 17A to connect with Salkehatchie Road. A project
location map is attached to this announcement as well.
This notice and the application to be submitted subject to the
provisions of the County’s Citizen Participation Plan, developed
in anticipation of participation in the State of South
Carolina's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program,
providing for the participation of the citizens of Yemassee in
the planning and implementation of community and economic
development projects which will involve CDBG funds as well as
the revised requirements to specifically related to Recovery
Funds that have been allocated to the SC CDBG Program. The
Citizen Participation Plan and the application are available for
review at the Yemassee Town Hall, during regular business hours.
